Silkworm Sarcophagus is a compact urn crafted from silk cocoons, encasing three silkworms at the cusp of metamorphosis, yet never fully transitioning into moths.
This work is inspired by Lepidopterophobia. Reflecting on the modification of evolution and the fear of death. The silkworm crafts its own burial case unknowingly. This work explores the concepts of unfulfilled completion, fear and the interruption of nature’s cyclical processes by humans.
Meditating on metamorphosis and the disruption of natural progression, questioning the consequences of modifying life's inherent trajectories.
